Foodakl is free to use, with no account and no card. Photo reading is part of Foodakl Premium: 7 days free, then $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. The trial needs no card and doesn’t turn into a subscription on its own; when it ends, the app keeps working for free, without the photo reading.
What is free and what is Premium?
Foodakl Premium adds photo reading, meal descriptions, the coach’s read, the Draw and the rest of the list below. Everything else is free, and Premium includes everything in Free.

Fixing a name or a portion by hand is free on every plan. Follow-up questions, which have Foodakl read the meal again, are part of Premium. Widgets are available on Android only.

How does the 7-day free trial work?
The trial gives you all of Foodakl Premium free for 7 days, with no card. It starts when you finish setting up the app, each device gets one trial, and there is nothing to cancel, because it never turns into a subscription by itself. When it ends, Foodakl keeps working for free without the photo reading, and everything you logged stays on your phone. You can subscribe at any time, and Premium picks up where the trial leaves off.
Is Foodakl Premium cheaper by the year?
Yes. Foodakl Premium costs $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. The yearly plan works out to about $3.33 a month, which is about 33% less than twelve months at the monthly price ($59.88). Both plans include the same things.

What does Foodakl cost where I live?
The prices on this page are in US dollars. Google Play and the App Store charge in your own currency, and they show the exact price before you agree to anything.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing you logged is taken away. Your history, existing readings, photos and exports stay yours, and you can still log by hand or from the library. Premium covers new photo readings and the insights built on them.
How do I cancel or manage Foodakl Premium?
You manage Premium in your app store, not in Foodakl, because the store holds the subscription. In the app, open More, then Your plan, then Manage subscription to open your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price until cancelled, so cancel at least a day before the renewal date. If you reinstall the app or change phones, Restore purchases in the same place brings Premium back.
Do I need an account or a card?
No account is needed to use Foodakl, and no card is needed for the trial. A card only comes into it if you subscribe, and then the store takes the payment: Foodakl never sees your card or billing address. An optional account, which is one email address and no password, exists for encrypted backups and for redeeming codes.
Is there a lifetime or one-time price?
No. Foodakl Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription, and there is no lifetime option, because reading photos costs money every time it runs.
Have a code from a friend or a creator?
A friend’s invitation or a code from Foodakl adds days of Premium. Redeem it in the app under More, then Invite a friend. Redeeming a code needs an account.
